Our Expenses

Deciding to lodge your 2015 EE FSWP will entail so much expenses for an applicant. So be prepared. Below is the summary of our expected Government Fees for our EE FSWP application plus my ECA and IELTS expenses. Note, however, that the remaining Php761,985.00 is the required cash on hand once an ITA is received from CIC.

As of 23 June 2015, my husband and I already invested an amount of Php29,269.06 in our initial application as detailed below.

After two months of being in the Express Entry Pool, below is our updated expenses as of 16 August 2015.

My husband and I decided to take the route of a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) because our score in the EE CRS is only at 313 points. Having a PNP nomination in any province of Canada will boost an applicant's score an addition of 600 points. Luckily, we got an ITA from New Brunswick PNP (NBPNP). Below now is our updated expenses amounting to Php48,819.60, as of 22 October 2015, after submitting our full application to NBPNP.

Please note that taking a PNP route will mean an additional expenses besides the Government expenses required by CIC. So be really prepared.

After getting a NBPNP nomination last 9 December 2015, my husband and I did our NBI, bank consolidation, picture, upfront medical and others. Below is our updated expenses as of 18 December 2015 in the amount of Php77,154.60.

Next will be expenses before the CIC stage. After paying our processing fee on 28 December 2015, our expenses is now at Php119,970.26 as shown below. We have yet to pay the RPRF to which I decided not to pay the upfront because I wanted a message from CIC telling us to pay it. This way I may know that PPR is just around the corner, LOL.

Updating this page. So, after PPR and PP submission, below is our updated expenses as of 16 March 2016:

So far, my husband and I has a total of P160,326.42 total expenses from IELTS, ECA, NBPNP application, CIC application, passport to permanent residency visa stamping. We have yet to add our expenses for the 3 seminars which we are attending soon (CIIP, COA and PDOS) to finalize our final expenses to our Canadian dream for our little R.

Below now is our final expenses from the start of our application to the cost of our tickets. The landing is not included since we are already in Canada. Final amount is at P278,897.37, more or less, as detailed below.

Hi, I would like to ask why is it the Principal Applicant Only applied for a ECA and IELTS? How about the spouse? Thanks.

Hi Shereen, I only did the ECA and IELTS because we just thought it is not practical for us to spend money on it when you only add a maximum of 40 points on Spouse Factor for education (10), Official Language/IELTS (20) and Canadian Work Experience (10). But you can both do the IELTS and ECA.

Wow! Yes, that really make sense. However just a follow up question do you think when applying for a job there they will look for a IELTS credential or the ECA results?

For the spouse? I honestly don't know. I have not came accross that line. :) But I have a friend in Ontario who is with PR visa and she found a good job in a company with ECA and IELTS so I believe it can be done. :)

Hi, I happened to see your blog and I just want to ask if the Settlement Fund will be required in what part of the application process? I have read some article that settlement fund can be suspended or delayed? Is this possible?

JustPJ said...

Hi Maureen, settlement fund is needed once you received an ITA from a province or from CIC. It is better to have a liquid cash when your applying so you will not face problems during the application and yes most of the time, settlement fund will get your application rejected. All the best on your application.

Hi PJ, thank you so much for everything you have shared in your blog. This will help other aspiring immigrants like myself and my husband. How I wish I have the same patience and positivity like you to go through all the DIY process. However, we have decided to get a representative to guide us in our application. Keep on blogging. May God bless you and your family always.

Hi Unknown, no job offer for me. We landed first and found a job here.
Hi Cery, thank you. Good luck.
Hi Corie, thank you. Good luck.
Hi Charmlene, we just wanted our teeth done in PI coz it is cheaper. False teeth, I think it is okay coz it does not affect your health as a whole.
