Our Canada Dream: How It All Started

As a child, I have never dreamt of leaving my country or my loved ones and work abroad especially that my husband and I have a stable job here in our country, the Philippines. But things had to go on a different direction because of our goal of having our own family which we can call our own.

My husband and I are struggling to have a child for more than six years now. We did not have a normal life since we started battling our infertility issues. We have invested so much just to have a child but I guess it is not yet our time. Since our failed artificial insemination in May of 2013, we have dreamt of moving to either in Australia, New Zealand and Canada not for greener pasture but because the weather in said countries are all conducive for couples like us who are trying to conceive (TTC).

Thus, we have put on hold doing our work ups. A change in country they say may at some point help TTC couples in their journey. A healthier environment, good weather and anything, just anything, we will do it just for the sake of having our precious little R. Thus, from June 2014 to second week of April 2015, we have really tried our best to look for jobs abroad. Then came the third week of April 2015, in a click of a finger, God really directed our path to a more solid and definite direction. Migrating to the maple leaf country. We have informed our respective families of our plans and all of them, although hesitant, were very supportive of our plan of moving to Canada through the 2015 Express Entry Federal Skilled Worker Program.

The process is not easy, especially that we are still starting in our applications, but is there really a need to complain now after all the painful, stressful and depressing times we have encountered for the last 6 years and 6 months. The change in our plans can take another more year before we could accomplish it but it is never difficult to bear all these when you are more closer to becoming parents to little R. We will do anything just to achieve our goal no matter how long and hard it takes.

My husband and I are really in to this change in our plans because, first and foremost, Father God directed us to this path. Out of nowhere, He pointed us to this direction. We do not want to miss this precious opportunity our Father God has given us, thus, without second thought we grabbed it even if we have to start from zero again.

In this blog, we will share to you our timeline of our journey to the maple leaf country for the sole purpose of our little R. I also have a TTC blog. I wanted our little R to someday read all my blogs which are all dedicated to him or her. I wanted him or her to know that his or her papa and mama did everything they can to have him or her in this world.
