Today, 17 July 2015, my husband and I attended NBs Information Session at AIM, Conference Manila, Legaspi Village, Makati City, Philippines. They actually allowed the accompanying companion of registered applicant to their Information Session. A video is being played showing some parts of Canada but mostly of New Brunswick province. There were also freebies available in the room: a ballpen, a lanyard (this contains a 16 GB USB, happy us) and pamphlets.
There were 4 Canadians in the room: 2 representing the Federal Government of Canada working at the Canadian Embassy here in the Philippines and 2 coming from the Immigration of the Government of NB. First to speak is from the Canadian Embassy who talked and introduced the basics of the 2015 Express Entry Program which is basically to secure first an ECA and IELTS before applying to EE. He told us that so far EE program is a success since they have already issued permanent residency to succesful candidates in April 2015 from the first intake or draw of January 2015. A very fast processing time of the 2015 EE program as compared to their previous programs. Additionally, he explained that Canada provinces, in agreement with the Federal Government, came out with their own selection process which they will nominate and invite to come, work and settle in their province. Thus, we are in the Information Session today as part of NBs continuous marketing of their Provincial Nominee Program.
So, before going into the PNP of NB, the speaker from the Government of NB introduced first the place, population, climate, education, and others to us. He told us that NB is one of the maritime provinces of Canada and the only bilingual (French and English) speaking province of the country. It is bordering Maine, USA and near the provinces of Quebec, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, all in Canada. He also showed us the towns of NB but tackles more on the 3 biggest cities in their province i.e., St. John, Fredericton and Moncton. St. John is the largest city in NB. Fredericton is the capital of NB. Moncton is the fastest growing city in NB and the most populated at 160,000. LOL, Manila is even more populated. We were really amazed of NB because it is not as remote and urban as we thought it was. We actually thought that it is like in New Zealand wherein houses are far from each other and in the city proper. Well, it is not.
In addition, he also shared to us the advantages of settling in the province. First, NB has a low cost of living. Housing in NB are more cheaper compared to other provinces. Traffic is not also a problem unlike in other provinces. Second, there is a balance of work and family because of shorter transportation from your place to your work and vice versa. Thus, more quality time for family. I very much like this part because if you were reading our blog and came accross the reason why we are immigrating to Canada then you will know why.:) Third, when it comes to tourism, there is a balance of the beaches, rivers, lakes, parks and mountains all in one province. Who would not love this especially to adventure lovers like us. Oh, and we could always visit the USA if given the time and money, LOL. Fourth, climate. They have 4 seasons in NB: spring, summer, fall and winter. Funny that there summer in NB is at 25 degrees celsius. It is just like the place where I grew up, the summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio City. No problem with winter, we are so excited to experience the snow, LOL, but scared too. Fifth, the speaker told us that there are lots of Filipino skilled workers in NB but I will just keep it to myself why. Sixth, education for our children is free from 5 years old up to grade 12. Lastly, health insurance is no problem for the whole family (imagine it is always for the "whole family") because this is given once we landed in NB but this is with the exception of the eye and dental care. However, eye and dental care are often times provided by an NB employer. Education and health insurance are free because of the taxes being collected to an employee in NB. At least in Canada, paying big taxes is no big deal for a Filipino like us because at least we know where our taxes are going unlike here in our country. In the Philippines, we pay taxes and goes to the pockets of our politicians. Sad but this is very true.
After the Information Session, they provided us the Expression of Interest form to know if we are qualified in their program. Of course, I know this part because I submitted one last 2 July 2015. They asked us to pass our form if we meet their criteria. I approached 1 officer to basically inform him that I already submitted an application without the additional criteria given by NB. He asked me if I receive a reply from NB to which I said no. He said I can wait for the next intake since it was only in 2 July that I emailed my application, meaning from August 1-15. Or, I can inform NB to disregard my previous application and send another one under their new rule, with the additional criteria part, under the Second Priority Stream and put the subject of my email as "NBPNP Information Session/Manila; July 17, 2015". This is also in August 1-15. I am actually torn between waiting or sending another application. Anyway, the expression of interest form which we passed today will be their basis to know if we really attended an Information Session given by the Government of NB.
I am really inlove with NB. I hope and pray to our Father God that we land and settle in NB. NB is just the right place for infertile couples like us who are really trying to have our own family. It is almost 7 years now.:( In addition, I asked my friend google about infertility in NB and its answer really made us very happy. The Government of NB provides financial assistance for infertility treatment. See here. Imagine providing finacial assistance through medicare card. In the Philippines, medicare card is very useless for infertile couples because everything is not covered. Even the simple blood tests and ultrasounds are not covered. We pay for everything. I am just so happy for NBs program towards infertility treatment but we are still praying that we conceive naturally through change of country and environment.

Thank you so much for sharing details on "NB PNP Information Session". Can you please me the URL from where we can register for future information sessions.
Hi Maanas desai, kindly visit http://www.livinginnb.ca for NBs Information Session updates and possible new schedules. Thank you.
Thanks for your post! Very informative. Can you please tell me which documents should I have with me at nbpnp information session?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Xvso. If you registered for an information session, it will have an auto reply which says you must bring your registration paper. I did but NB did not ask for it during the session. I also brought my IELTS and ECA during the session just in case NB will look for it. Apparently, they did not but you can use it when they will ask you to fill up an EOI.
Information session is basically a backgrounder on what to expect with NB province, how its PNP works in connection to EE plus your ticket to second priority stream under NBPNP.
All the best. Thank you.
Thank you for the information. I am based in India at present. Is it necessary to be present a the session venue in person or can we attend online as well?
Hello there. You need to be present at information session. Just check on livinginnb.ca website for updated NB information sessions. All the best.
Hi there. How long does the info session takes? I'm planning to attend the session in Manila on the 25th and catch a flight back.
Hi my universe in a shoebox. It is half day during our time. Good luck.
Hi JustPJ. thanks for your reply. Just wondering if there is a fee to be collected too? I have been following your blog since last year and its really a big help :)
Hi again. The information session is totally FREE. :)
Thank you for the compliments. Keep me updated on your application. I wish you the best on chasing your Canada dream.
PJ do you know whether this information session will happen in other country as well. if yes could you please give in what all countries it have taken place so fare. Manila is too far for me and would make a hole in my pocket... Karuvarasan.s@gmail.com
Hi karuvarasan. From what country are you? So far, NB went to Ukraine, Greece and somewhere in Europe. In Asia, I think they only came here in the Philippines, I may be wrong. I was only basing it through livinginnb.ca site. They post their there schedules of information session. :)
Hi JustPJ.. thanks again. i'm flying tonight to attend the session tomorrow and be back to my jobsite the following day.
Thanks for your well wish :) I want to keep this communication open of course :) Do you mind sending me your email address so I can drop you a line anytime? i saw it somewhere in the page but i didn't take note of it. hehe.. I have whatsapp too..
I studied in Baguio too :) Hope to see you in the Maple Leaf Country very soon ;) please take care!
Hi universe. Really. Maybe we went to the same school too, just register in canada visa forum and look for me there, PJ1220. PM me from there. All the best. :)
Hello JustPJ,
Did you finally made it to NB? How long did it take from the time you sent the Second Priority Stream email to consulate office?
Thanks in Advance
Hi yousuf. In God's time we will go to NB. As of now, waiting for PR. My NBPNP EOI is 9/3/2015, received ITA on 9/23/2015, sent our full application to NBPNP-our AOR is 10/27/2015 and received our nomination on 12/8/2015. No additional document. As of now, we are at CiC stage waiting for PR. :)
Hello JustPj,
I have opened a fixed deposit account couple of days back & i would like to show it as a settelement funds to NB/CIC once I get the ITA. I have already submitted my EOI on 27th Jan hence would like to know if this FD account will be an issue since it has been opened recently.
Hi suvadeep. I honestly do not know fixed deposit as SF but and a a very new account. What I know is that NB accepted our big deposit in our account a week before we submitted our full application. Just be sure to attached and LOE and supporting documents showing how you acquired said big amount. All the best on your application.
@ Just PJ somewhere in the website of New Brunswick it is mentioned that they may require validation from third party for your working experience (foreign)? where are u from and did u go through such process of verification?
@just PJ you have mentioned that NBPNP accepts applications from 1-15 of each month. Can u give me the reference for the following.
Also, in NB website it is mentioned that candidates will be invited to apply according to their rank. Can you please tell me how much ur CRS was? How much CRS would get ITA from NB?
Hi samrat, that is before but now you can send any day of each month. Here is NBPNPs link: http://www.welcomenb.ca/content/wel-bien/en/immigrating_and_settling/how_to_immigrate/new_brunswick_provincialnomineeprogram.html.
I have 68/100 for EOI NBPNP and my CIC CRS is at 313. When I was nominated, my CRS went to 913 thus the ITA or PR App. Good luck.
Thank you JustPJ. Can you help me with my above query regarding verification of foreign work please??
Hi samrat, yes, i believe i went through the process of third-party verification because i signed a consent form. That is for checking if the submitted Letter References or COEs are true and accurate. :)
Thank you JustPJ
Thanks JustJP for this amazing post. I am gathering all information to apply soon. I was not clear with the answer you gave Samrat regarding the third-party verification. Are they agencies we have to contact to get our work experience verified? Is there any fee that has to be paid? Kindly shed some light to it.
Hi Unknown. I believe NB has a third-party agency who will verify our submitted reference letters to our respective supervisors, managers and companies because when you received an ITA, one form that you have to submit and sign is a consent for NBs third-party. There is no fee to be collected. All the best on your application.
Hi PJ, thanks for sharing such a useful information. Is it mandatory to register to attend NBPNP information session? I can not just walk in?
Hi Unknown. No problem. Just read along. :) And yes, it is mandatory to register first with NBs info session. Good luck.
Hi,
First of all, thank you for taking the time to share the information and knowledge you've acquired thus far re: your journey to reach your Canadian dream.
I would like to ask though, if you get an automated reply once you sign up for an information session? I didn't receive any, and now I'm wondering whether I should sign up again.
All the best.
Hi Toni. Yes, during our time, July 2015, we received our automated reply from NBPNP with the time and place indicated on it. I think the sessions now has no definite time and place yet. Only the confirmation. Maybe wait a little for your email. All the best on your application.
Hi JustPJ. Thanks for sharing a very informative experience of yours. I'll be going to attend an upcoming session in Manila next month but I have submitted my EOI last April without getting a response or invites from NB. I understand from your story that you've submitted an EOI prior to the session. Did you inform the NB to disregard your previous application and wait for their response before submitting a new one? I would love to get to know more details on your journey if you don't mind here's my email add gcbau24@gmail.com. Praying for your application! Cheers! :)
Hi gcbau24, yes, I informed NB to disregard my first EOI (June I think) because an information session is required during that time. So better send a new one with your latest CV and your registration. All the best on your application.
Hi JustPJ, Thanks for sharing your experience as i believe it has helped a lot of people.
After attending the information session, how soon can one submit the EOI.
Many thanks.
Hi JustPJ,
Do the PNP officers conduct like a 10 min interview after the session. And also do we need to bring all the documents- IELTS Score Card, ECA report and Work Reference Letter while attending the session.
Thank you!
Hi Just PJ, must I enter the express entry pool before I can apply for EOI and also attend information session?
Hi all. @Unknown, you can send EOI after you attended a session. @Saravanan, I heard through fellow countrymen that they are now conducting one-on-one interview and if you are lucky you can get an ITA on the spot so better bring with you your documents. @Angel, yes you must. I wish you all the best on your applications.
Hello Pj, i excitedly registered for an upcoming session and got this message.

I thought it was cool till my internet 'geek' brother warned that i should be careful because he doubts the authenticity of this website livinginnb.ca. He has a problem with the overall outline and wonders why no other 'credible' source has ANY information on NB Information Session Locations.
Did you get a mail like this and did they later send you a confirmation mail with venue and time details? Please advise, i really hope it is not fake. In fact, i sent a mail to promotions@gnb.ca with my IELTS, ECA and CV to request for a permission to attend but has not gotten a response to the mail
I am just a little worried about the concerns my brother raised on the website.
Please what do you think? Kindly advise.
Hi CuddleMoi, please note that livinginnb.ca is a legit site. All of us registered from there and got an email from __@gnb.ca email addresses. Now with regards for the place, I think NB now do not email the exact time nor place for the session unlike during our time. Please read properly the notices given in livinginnb.ca site especially if you are not a citizen to the country where you will attend the session. It is all there in the site. Good luck.
@ justPJ I want information regarding the proof of funds. I went through the information on website but it says only about the amount to maintain but not on how long (I mean 3 months of minimum fund like in Sasketchwan or bank statement of 6 months totaling to min funds towards the end of 6 months ). Please shed some light on the matter
hello dear i was invited to attend the session and they told us there will be an interview so what happens at this interview is it job interview or they just review my papers or what
Hi samrat, to be safe, you need to have a liquid proof of funds at the time you submit your full application to NBPNP. Our fund did not met the 6 months required bank statement but since it is complete for a family of 2 and were well explained where we got our proof of funds, thus, our application was approved.
Hi ON Event Egypt, during our time there is no interview, even the January 2016 information session in our country. But in June 2016 session, those who has ECA, IELTS and EOI were interviewed and received their on the spot verbal ITA. So I suggest, bring with you the documents above and other supporting papers and who knows maybe you'll be lucky to be invited too.
All the best to you both. :)
@justPJ thank you for the information. Is there any reference which could exactly specify the requirements of proof of funds as I want to be ready when the session comes to India later this year.
Hi Justin,
I want to know during your time if you were required to provide your pay stub. The company I work for don't issue pay stub.
Thank you
Hi samrat, you can check on my other posts here, I think I have a sample on NBPNP Full Application.
Hi Angel, during our time it was not required to present a pay stub but just to make sure we will not be asked for additional documents, I included every important papers in our application.
All the best to the both of you.
Thank you JustPJ
Hi PJ,
Thank you for your post.
Did you get "you are welcome to attend" letter from promotions or just went to the information session with a confirmation letter?
No problem samrat.
Hi Jamen. I receive the confirmation of my registration for the information session right away with details of the venue and time. I belong to the first batch of Priority 2 applicants that is why we receive the details of our information session. Good luck on your application.
As I understood you were resident of the country where information session was held. That's why confirmation letter was enough in your case, am I right?
Hi Jamen. Yes, we are. Good luck.
Hi,I registered for an online information session and got an email confirming my participation online. Can I use this to apply to Newbrunswick
Hi,I registered for an online information session and got an email confirming my participation online. Can I use this to apply to Newbrunswick
Hi Unknown and MMA, I honestly do not know if that online information session is valid to use in your NBPNP EELMS application. My advise is to email or call them to inquire about it. Good luck.
Hello,
Lovely information here.
I have been waiting for the next information session , do you have an idea when that would be?
Thanks
Hi Gbenga. Just visit http://livinginnb.ca/ once in a while. They always post in there their next scheduled information session. Good luck.
Hi JustPJ,
Thank you for the post. Got all my answers without even asking for things which I had doubts on. However, I see that you have received your nomination on 12/8/2015. Wanted to know when did you get your ITA from Canadian Govt (CIC) after the Nomination from NB. And how long did you take to get the PR.
And thanks again.
Hi Gautham. Happy to be of help in your application. I got my ITA from CIC after 10 days (last draw in 2015) and PPR after 2 1/2 months. CIC stage is a case to case basis and it really depends on your VO. Good luck.
Thanks for the reply JustPJ. God Bless!
can i be eligible after attending online session,is there any chance NB staff will arrange information session in pakistan
No worries Gautham.
HI eagleworld. Online session is not a passport for NB ITA. You need to attend physically on the information sessions conducted by the NB government. Good luck.
Hi JustJP!
Is it necessary to have IELTS and WES in your hand before singning-up for reservation sa information session?
Regards,
aldreg
Hi Unknown. No need for IELTS and ECA to attend for an information session. You can have them afterwards especially that the session is valid for 2 years. Good luck.
Hi,
any information about the new info session held on 20 January in NYC ???
I did apply two weeks ago and I received this Email :
Thank you for registering to the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program information session. We will follow up with an email to confirm your registration. At that time we will provide the location of the session. We will also share your details with NB employers so you may receive a request to provide additional information.
You will need a copy of this confirmation email to access the session....
No confirmation yet !!!!
Same situation. Haven you heard anything yet?
Hi Tkhili and Me. Usually NB send out the details of the session a week before the schedule. Just wait for it and it will surely come. Good luck to both of you.
Thanks JustPJ for sharing your experience. This is truly helpful to many including me. I received the same email as Tkhili Mouhcine when I registered last Jan 30 for the Feb 16 session but I haven't receive follow up emails yet. Would you know if they were able to receive prior there session date?
Also, what is your NOC? I want to know if I have a big chance since my background is Sales Engineering.
Hi JustPJ I recv an email for the place and time of the session. If ever I cannot attend will I still be qualify to join the next session where employers are coming?
Hi Unknown. They will reply, just wait for it. I'm NOC 1311. You can visit NBs website for the demand NOCs. Good luck.
Hi Kate. I honestly do not know. I believe it is stated on NBs new requirement. It is usually stated in their website, look for it. The session is a new program that is different from ours. Good luck.
Thank you for sharing your experience! Very informative. I spent half a day to search anything about NB information session yesterday. Finally, I found this blog. Thank God, I am so lucky. I will attend a information session this weekend. Hope I could receive ITA too.
Hi Shuo Li, thanks for dropping by and all the best on your application.
Hello JustPJ. Thank you for the details about your experience in the NB Information sessions. My husband and I registered for their information session in Abu Dhabi on the 28th May 2017, we haven't receive the confirmation yet with the details but since it is a new program (Atlantic Pilot), we rather received an email from NB employer asking for our Resume for further review. We are hoping to receive the confirmation mail soon with the details of the session.
So how is life in NB?
Hi KHoping. All the best on your application.
